San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) May 13, 2013

Nike Golf Camps announces the addition of an advanced junior golf camp at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. Georgia Southern boasts one of the best collegiate practice facilities in the country. The Bennett-Ramsey Golf Center consists of a team clubhouse, a dedicated practice putting green, a three-green short-game area, a two-tiered practice tee, a driving range and three practice holes. For afternoon course play, campers have the privilege of playing at Forest Heights Country Club in the nearby town of Bulloch.

During the day, all participants will develop their fundamentals, ball control, long game, and short game. Each afternoon, campers get to play a full round of golf under the supervision and guidance of the camp staff. Emphasis is placed on the mental aspects of the game – tournament preparation, proper practice routines, strategy, and mental toughness.

“Our program at Georgia Southern University utilizes a fantastic facility with an incredible staff of college coaches and players ready to work with junior golfers,” states Nicholas Brunner, national director of Nike Golf Camps. “The camp directors have experience both at the junior level and college level enabling them to offer the highest level of instruction to the campers this summer.”

The Nike Advanced Camp at Georgia Southern is directed by three collegiate coaches. Berry College Head Coach, Brian Farrer, and Lee University Head Coach, John Maupin, currently co-direct the Nike Golf Camp at Berry College and will bring their junior experience to the Statesboro program. In addition, Georgia Southern Head Coach, Larry Mays, will be on staff working with Farrer and Maupin. The three coaches will be assisted by current and former collegiate players who will serve as camp counselors.

The advanced school offers a residential program as well as an extended day camp option from 9:00am - 9:00pm. The overnight camp includes golf instruction, course play, meals, housing and evening activities. The extended day camp includes everything except breakfast and lodging. This program is for junior golfers, ages 11 - 18, and is coed.
