“[COPP] is greatly needed and I am glad of its creation. Community Resilience is the key term where there’s a void in this area.”

No, not a police officer - but a new tool that can revolutionize emergency preparedness planning called Customized Online Preparedness Plan (COPP). Interestingly, with this week being the State of Georgia's Severe Weather Awareness Week, an ARK-themed non-profit organization called Noah's Ark & Co. is announcing the release of their web-based emergency planning tool this Valentine's Day - Feb. 14, 2011 at http://www.GETaCOPP.com.

Increased individual and organizational commitment to emergency preparedness is the key to building a network of prepared households and organizations. Emergency Management authorities like White refer to this principle as "Community Resilience".

COPP was built to help people prepare for such storms similar to California's impending ARKStorm . The COPP Profile is a free web-based preparedness planning tool that will equip individuals and families to have important information handy (and backed up online) if and when a catastrophe occurs. It will coach them to assign Designated Emergency Contacts (DECs) to build a network of support for their household. Utilizing this tool as it is intended can help people make emergency preparedness a priority in their lives.

Statistically, only a small percentage of individuals actually write a preparedness plan. Founders of Noah's Ark & Co. believe that in order to offset this lack of preparation in the general population, a smarter and user-friendly tool like COPP can facilitate this process.

Noah's Ark & Co. will reach out to businesses, schools, churches and other civic organizations to offer this free COPP Profile initiative to their employees, vendors & customers through their COPP Launch events.

Noah's Ark & Co. Inc. is a Georgia non-profit organization whose aim is to help people prepare for the next storm. Their vision is to seek out 1 million households using COPP profile per year to improve the nearly 8 out of 10 ratio of unprepared Georgians for natural calamities.
