IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program today announces Get Real as a 2012 Laureate. The annual award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change.

InstantPHR is already changing the dynamic around the world on how patients get and use their health information to make impactful and demonstrable changes in their health behaviors,” said Robin Wiener, President and Co-Founder of Get Real.

Get Real Consulting is being honored for its contribution to accelerating digital access with its multi-award winning InstantPHR™ platform, a revolutionary product that allows organizations to build custom, user-friendly patient portals via personal computer, mobile phone and other technologies. Computerworld specifically touted Get Real’s work around the design and development of MedStar Health’s, eHealth2go, a web-based personal health record geared toward minority and vulnerable diabetic patients in the Washington, DC area. eHealth2go was built on Get Real’s InstantPHR platform and is a native application to Microsoft’s HealthVault data ecosystem, which has directly contributed to the overwhelming success of the eHealth2go pilot as a large majority of test patients reported better health outcomes over a three month period, including a significant increase in eHealth literacy levels.

“There's no question technology plays a vital role in driving business forward. It ensures an organization's ability to compete, innovate, communicate and to thrive. What the Computerworld Honors Laureates so clearly demonstrate is technology's role in moving society forward. Computerworld acknowledges and applauds the outstanding work being done by individuals and organizations who have successfully used technology to improve the quality of our lives and that of future generations,” said John Amato, Vice President/Publisher of Computerworld. "Computerworld is proud to name the 2012 class of Laureates and celebrate their initiatives benefiting society through the innovative use of IT.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized by such a great publication like Computerworld. InstantPHR is already changing the dynamic around the world on how patients get their health information and use that information to make impactful and demonstrable changes in their health behaviors,” said Robin Wiener, President and Co-Founder of Get Real. “Computerworld’s acknowledgement of InstantPHR as a 2012 Computerworld Honors Laureate not only validates our hard work, but also that of the dozens of client organizations who have chosen InstantPHR as their platform for engaging and empowering their consumers.”
