In 2006, Seastone delivered approximately 40 million gift card package units, which increased to more than 100 million units in 2007. During the 2007 holiday season, consumers are expected to spend $26.8 billion on gift cards according to the National Retail Federation. In addition, a 2007 survey by Comdata showed that 57 percent of consumers are more likely to purchase a gift card if it has specialty gift card packaging, and 47 percent of consumers are more likely to purchase a gift card if it comes in a tin(1).
