Former top 100 WTA professional, Alison Scott, is widely recognized as one of the most professional and knowledgeable tennis coaches and mentors, and has recently combined her passion for tennis with her years of experience to create the Girls Tennis Academy. The first of its kind, this exciting new enterprise is designed to increase female tennis participation, create a global online network and provide girls with a wide range of social, sporting and interpersonal skills.

As Founder, Alison Scott, reveals, “I’m promoting tennis from a girls perspective and in particular I’m promoting that’s its not just about being able to play, it’s about the positive impact it has on your entire life”

“I believe that knowing how to play tennis is such an important skill set for girls to have in their life. I know from my own personal experience that girls tennis gives you the confidence to socialise, network, break down barriers and get your foot in the door in so many areas of life.”

“In the beginning it’s about learning something new and having fun. But the long-term impact is that it gives girls another way to socialize and interact with their male peers in their teens. Then, when they’re ready to travel, they’ll have instant access to a healthy and welcoming network across the world where they’ll be safe and can meet new friends.”

The Girls Tennis Academy is designed to spread awareness about these long-term benefits, not only for its young female members, but also to the coaches, parents and other adults they interact with. Members will have expert tips and interviews delivered to their inbox on a regular basis and can also gain valuable knowledge and skills through coaching sessions.

This new initiative has also been specifically designed to unite girls via an online community where they can interact with likeminded people and connect with other tennis players and clubs across the globe.

As Ms Scott explains, “Tennis websites and the community as a whole has been male dominated for too long. I see Girls Tennis Academy as the perfect opportunity to encourage girls and help them achieve mastery, not only in tennis, but in other important areas of their lives."

“All girls can play tennis and as a girls tennis coach, I want to give them the skills they need to master a sport they can play forever, anywhere in the world, meet people, make friends, stay healthy, live actively and love life!”

Alison is providing free access to a series of tips and interviews as well as an e-book to help you choose a racket.
