Eight new substrates from Pixelle® product line optimized specifically for Kodak rating program.

Glatfelter and Kodak have worked together for many years to provide a wide range of papers for Kodak Printing systems

Eight new substrates in Glatfelter’s Pixelle product line have been recognized by Kodak’s new Paper Rating Program. The Paper Rating Program helps printers and publishers make more informed decisions about the right combination of quality and price when evaluating substrates for each of their print jobs.

Kodak relies on the collection and analysis of quantifiable data, and measures image quality using a wide variety of factors. It then ranks each substrate using a rating system that ranges from one to five diamonds. Each of the papers recognized has achieved one- to three-diamonds.

The Glatfelter papers recognized in the Paper Rating Program include:

  •     TRANSFORM™ Laser MOCR

  •     PIXELLE® CAD Bond
  •     PIXELLE® Antique Natural
  •     PIXELLE® Book
  •     PIXELLE® Restorecote
  •     PIXELLE® Superior Duo Matte
  •     Engineering Bond P
  •     PIXELLE® Bond P

Glatfelter also uses the quantitative data for its own analytics and testing to refine its product. Continuous improvement, along with frequently introducing products to serve new markets and customers, is a key component of Glatfelter’s focus on innovation.

“Glatfelter and Kodak have worked together for many years to provide a wide range of papers for Kodak Printing systems, but no standard of comparison between papers existed for buyers,” said Denny Betz, Business Development Manager for Pixelle inkjet papers. “With this program, Kodak is helping its customers to identify quality and price levels that suit their printing needs, and quantifying the performance of those papers. The testing results give us the opportunity to evaluate performance and modify our papers when necessary.”

Glatfelter has been a leading producer of production inkjet papers for the North American market for more than five years and offers one of the broadest ranges of inkjet papers—including uncoated, treated and coated papers. Its growing inkjet product line, serves transactional, direct mail, and commercial book printers needing reliable, high-quality inkjet paper solutions.
