GL Announces its Network Test, Monitoring, and Surveillance solutions for TDM, VoIP and Wirelss Networks

GL Communications Inc. announced today the availability of its Network Test, Monitoring, and Surveillance software for TDM, VoIP and Wireless Networks.

GL provides a variety of solutions for network wide monitoring and surveillance. The solutions consist of: Intrusive and non-intrusive "probes" for TDM, VoIP, and Wireless networks.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Robert Bichefsky Senior Manager for product development of the company said, ” GL provides a variety of solutions for network wide monitoring and surveillance. The solutions consist of: Intrusive and non-intrusive "probes" for TDM, VoIP, and Wireless networks, these probes deployed at strategic locations in a network can transmit and collect voice, data, protocol, statistics, and performance information, and relay this information to a central / distributed network management system (NMS), the NMS may be client server based or WEB based system and consists of a database and applications for controlling, collecting, and analyzing the information provided by the various probes.”

He added, “GL’s Packet Monitoring and Surveillance System uses GL's Ethernet probe called "PacketScan™" to monitor packet flows in real-time within a VoIP network. All major VoIP protocols are supported including SIP, H.323, Megaco, and MGCP. PacketScan™ also performs detailed analysis of voice band streams gathering QOS statistics such as MOS (Mean Opinion Score), total packet count, reordered, duplicate and missing packet counts, gap, jitter, and delay. A central database stores the real-time and historic data. The system also facilitates various views using a web interface.

GL’s SS7, ISDN, and Wireless Protocol Monitoring and Surveillance System provides a uniform method for monitoring the various protocols and content of TDM, VoIP, and Wireless networks. Intelligent protocol analyzers extract relevant content and supply this to a central NMS for storage, display, and control.

GL’s Voice-band Analyzer (VBA) is an analysis tool for capturing and monitoring the quality of voice band traffic over VoIP, TDM and wireless networks. VBA works in conjunction with GL's TDM, Packet, and Wireless non-intrusive capture products. VBA instantly detects voice file captures and with appropriately installed analysis modules, monitors speech levels, noise levels, and line echo. Other analysis modules such as ITU-T P.561, P.562, P.563, fax and modem analysis, and many others can be hosted as plug-ins.

GL’s Wirelss, Wireline, and VoIP Voice Quality Testing and Monitoring System provides real-time voice quality measurement across a diverse set of networks. Voice calls are automatically placed between end points; quality is measured and provided for display at an NMS. Voice measurements include MOS (Mean Opinion Score), round trip delay (RTD), jitter, clipping, voice levels, etc.”

Mr. Bichefsky further added, “GL's T1 E1 Network Monitoring System provides network wide management of T1 and E1 lines including line health, intrusive diagnostics, non-intrusive monitoring, and much more. Maintenance engineers can securely access the network view from literally "anywhere" that Internet access is available. They can also monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot remotely with simple to use scripts.”
