Serving up a visual and epicurean feast for kitchen design and gourmet appetites alike, the 2010 Glen Ellyn Kitchen Walk returns on October 1. The 2010 collection presents eight eclectic kitchens, including a double award-winning kitchen by Drury Design. After touring the kitchens, ticket holders are invited to gather at a gourmet reception hosted by the event's presenting sponsor, Drury Design Kitchen and Bath Studio, located at 512 N. Main Street in downtown Glen Ellyn. Mitch Williams, a Baird & Warner realtor and Glen Ellyn Kitchen Walk event chair, talked about the 2010 collection, "This year's mix is unusual and full of variety. Williams says silent auction items include a Chicago Blackhawk #81 Marian Hossa autographed jersey. Donated by W. Rockwell "Rocky" Wirtz, the red home jersey is fully embroidered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Team.

Glen Ellyn Kitchen,Walk's 2010 collection features a custom designed kitchen by Tina Muller for Drury Design. In the National Kitchen and Bath Association's 2010 competition, Mrs. Muller's design was selected as one of the top three large kitchen designs in the nation. The top regional contender in Wolf Sub-Zero's Design Contest, Mrs. Muller's design won out of over hundreds entries. Described as "a small kitchen within a large kitchen" the crisp, white design replaced the homeowner's original French country kitchen and is a classic case study in the best of custom cabinetry and optimal efficiency, and the latest in cooking technology and refrigeration options. Multi-Course Gourmet Reception Celebrates National Kitchen and Bath Month
Gourmet Reception Hours: 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Drury Design is proud to be the event's presenting sponsor as well as the AfterWalk Gourmet Reception host. SubZero and Wolf Corporate Chef, Craig Bell, will present an early fall harvest flavors menu featuring burnt tomato crostini, spicy bacon brittle, pumpkin ravioli and herb and panko encrusted steak bites. Chef Bell brings a broad range of culinary experience and insight to the kitchen. Becoming a master of the art of barbequing from the legendary BBQ pit masters of Memphis Tennesee, Chef Bell carries his Southern influence in his delicious dishes.

An annual event, the Glen Ellyn Kitchen Walk is Baird & Warner of Glen Ellyn's GoodWill Network project. The mission of the Baird & Warner GoodWill Network is to help the homeless and those in need in the communities in which we work and live. Since 2003, all Glen Ellyn Kitchen Walk ticket sales and silent auction proceeds have benefited Bridge Communities' mission to help transition families from homelessness to independence.
