The purpose of the summit was to bring together specialists in the field of vein treatment (phlebology) who have demonstrated a vested interest in addressing the key issues, opportunities and challenges within the field of phlebology.
Dr. Darling, a provider of St. Joseph vein treatment, presented a post-operative care case study to the doctors and vein specialists who attended the event.
“Sharing information with peers at events like these is the foundation for growth as doctors and health care professionals,” Dr. Darling said. “It’s important to me to share anything I’ve learned about treating patients so we can all become better at providing exceptional care to our patients.”
According to the American College of Phlebology, who presented the event, nearly 30 million Americans suffer from venous disease, which is a chronic and potentially debilitating condition where the vein walls or valves weaken, become stretched or damaged, interrupting normal blood flow. Because the normal blood flow is interrupted, blood begins to flow backward and increases pressure in veins, which makes venous disease worse.
Presenters at the Phlebology Colorado meeting delivered speeches on topics including innovative techniques, management approaches and latest research.
