The IOS FastScan is the only system in which you hold the wand still while the camera moves within the wand.

Glidewell Laboratories (http://www.glidewelldental.com ), industry-leading provider of dental lab products, and IOS Technologies jointly announce the IOS FastScan intraoral digital scanner has been advanced from prototype to production version and is proving successful in clinical beta testing.
This initial testing has delivered promising consistency for a variety of dental applications, most notably with model-free CAD/CAM manufacture of BruxZir® Solid Zirconia crowns & bridges.
The IOS FastScan is a complete solution that integrates an intraoral digital scanner into a seamless system for obtaining, using and archiving the digital dental impressions used for fabricating a full range of dental restorations.
The system’s major advantage over competitor systems is its intuitive wand. “The IOS FastScan is the only system in which you hold the wand still while the camera moves within the wand,” explains Dr. Michael DiTolla, Glidewell Laboratories’ Director of Clinical Education & Research.
“As the camera moves across its 40 mm path, you are not able to feel it moving. This single capture is equal to four or five still frames taken with other intraoral scanning systems,” DiTolla adds.
