Compatible with most major implant systems, Inclusive Scanning Abutments can be used with any digital impression system to capture the location, angulation and connection orientation of the implant in the patient’s mouth. This eliminates the need for conventional implant impressions. By using Inclusive Scanning Abutments and partnering with Glidewell Laboratories to restore their implant cases, dentists get the added benefit of precision CAD/CAM restorations, such as Titanium and Zirconia Inclusive® Custom Implant Abutments, BioTemps® Implant Provisionals and final ceramic restorations, such as award-winning BruxZir® Solid Zirconia.

With its comprehensive support for digital impression technology, Glidewell Laboratories provides dentists with a convenient, affordable and effective restorative process for implant cases that saves time, money and the mess associated with conventional transfer techniques. Bulky trays and sticky impression materials are no longer required. Instead, an Inclusive Scanning Abutment is attached to the implant. An intraoral scanner (e.g., Align Technology’s iTero#, Sirona’s CEREC#, 3M ESPE’s Lava# C.O.S., IOS Technologies’ IOS FastScan# or D4D Technologies’ E4D Dentist#) is used to capture the position of the scanning abutment, followed by buccal, lingual, occlusal and patient bite scans with the scanning abutment removed.

Once the patient is scanned, the digital impression can be submitted electronically to Glidewell Laboratories, eliminating the time and cost associated with physical shipping. Experienced technicians use the digital impression and the latest CAD/CAM technology to design custom abutments, provisionals or final restorations with optimal form, fit and function. The custom implant restorations are then machined to precise specifications using state-of-the-art milling equipment and returned to the dentist for the trial fitting and final seating.
