We are committed to giving educators the tools they need to work smarter through our comprehensive software offering
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 19, 2011
The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has selected two GlobalScholar education software products—its EXCEED® Student Management System and its Comprehensive Assessment Solution, consisting of Achievement Series® and Performance Series® —as finalists for the 2011 CODiE™ Awards.
The CODiE Awards recognize excellence in the business software, digital content and education technology industries. GlobalScholar’s EXCEED Student Achievement Manager, a product of GlobalScholar’s Spectrum K12 unit, was named a finalist in the Best Classroom Management System category. This CODiE Award category recognizes the best system designed for K-12 educators that provides capabilities such as data management and reporting tools, gradebooks, standards alignment tools, packages that link data and resources to instruction, and other platform tools that take user content. Additionally, GlobalScholar’s Comprehensive Assessment Solution, a product of GlobalScholar’s Scantron unit, is a finalist in the Best Student Assessment Solution category, which recognizes the best application or solution for assessments/preparation for high-stakes tests in the K-12 and postsecondary markets for use in either formative or summative assessments.
“The entire GlobalScholar team is proud that its products are finalists in two categories for this highly-regarded education software industry award,” said Kal Raman, CEO of GlobalScholar, the Education Business Group of Scantron Corporation, which is comprised of the education offerings of Scantron, GlobalScholar and Spectrum K12 (see the March 25, 2011 announcement of the comprehensive portfolio of products and services being brought to the education market under the GlobalScholar brand). “We are committed to giving educators the tools they need to work smarter through our comprehensive software offering, and while we ultimately judge ourselves on the impact we have on student achievement, we’re pleased that our products have made it to the next round of judging for the CODiE awards.”
GlobalScholar’s EXCEED platform manages, administers and prescribes the personalized learning process and data required for all students in general, compensatory, gifted or special education—from pre-K through graduation and beyond. The company’s Comprehensive Assessment Solution consists of Achievement Series standards-based assessment and Performance Series adaptive testing, which help educators meet accountability requirements and raise the level of student achievement.
Of 425 total nominations received for the 2011 CODiE Awards, 113 products from 80 companies were selected as finalists. Nominated products underwent an extensive review by judges via live demonstration, trial product access and analysis of product documentation. Finalists will be reviewed by SIIA members, who will vote on winners for all 24 categories. The winners will be announced on Monday, May 23, 2011, at the CODiE Awards Reception and Dinner, part of the 2011 Ed Tech Industry Summit being held in San Francisco.
