Host Europe forms partnership with Europe’s longest serving SSL Certificate Authority to provide security solutions to its significant customer base

Switching to GlobalSign was an obvious choice for Host Europe, following the visible success of Webfusion's partnership. GlobalSign works closely with its partners to develop an SSL reselling model which truly suits their unique business objectives.

GlobalSign NV/SA, one of the longest established Certification Authorities and specialists in SSL Partner Programs, today announced that one of Germany’s leading hosting companies, Host Europe, has joined the GlobalSign Partner Program as a Platinum Partner and will be incorporating GlobalSign’s full range of SSL Certificates into its hosting bundles and value-added service offerings. The newly formed partnership will allow Host Europe’s customers to easily obtain, install and activate GlobalSign’s highly trusted 2048 bit SSL security to secure their websites, transactions, logins and other next generation online services.

Host Europe decided to switch to GlobalSign from another SSL provider following the success of the partnership between GlobalSign and Webfusion, Host Europe’s sister company in the UK. Since joining GlobalSign’s SSL Partner Program in 2008, Webfusion has shown continuous growth, securing new sites and becoming one of the top hosters of SSL in the UK in just 18 months. By replicating this prosperous business partnership with GlobalSign in Germany, Host Europe is expected to become a key hoster of SSL in the DACH region.

As the leading domain registrar and webhosting solution provider in Germany, the partnership will enable Host Europe to provide their customers with a truly comprehensive and secure hosting solution by offering all three types of SSL Certificates, including fast issuance Domain Validation, traditionally vetted Organisation Validation and Extended Validation (EV) SSL, which activates the green address bar interface in IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari browsers. The German SSL market is currently the fourth largest in the world, and with UK web analyst firm Netcraft’s web crawlers identifying almost 70,000 publicly accessible secure sites, partnering with GlobalSign presents Host Europe with a great opportunity at this time.

GlobalSign offers Host Europe access to bespoke advice, support and co-branded marketing campaigns in the DACH region, as well as a comprehensive range of resources to help integrate SSL into its product portfolio and market to customers easily and effectively. In addition, as a Platinum level partner, Host Europe can benefit from early access to innovative delivery platforms, product and feature development priority, and inclusion in GlobalSign’s exclusive Platinum Partner directory.

“Switching to GlobalSign was an obvious choice for Host Europe, following the visible success of Webfusion’s partnership. GlobalSign works closely with its partners to develop an SSL reselling model which truly suits their unique business objectives.” said Patrick Pulvermüller, Managing Director, Host Europe GmbH. “With technical support, vetting and marketing resources all available in German, GlobalSign is able to provide an enhanced customer experience. We look forward to providing our customers with a cost-effective and feature-packed range of SSL Certificates, helping to increase trust and confidence online.”

“With Host Europe joining GlobalSign’s Partner Program, we are delighted to be able to target a wider European audience via a key hosting provider and help customers worldwide benefit from the strong and credible security that GlobalSign SSL provides,” said Paul Tourret, Managing Director at GlobalSign. “Combined with Host Europe’s local presence and expertise, the implementation of the highest levels of SSL security in the German market will be greatly facilitated.”

All GlobalSign SSL Certificates are inclusive of Server Gated Cryptography (SGC) (to “step up” weak browser encryption to strong encryption on older browsers), and support wildcard technology and Subject Alternative Names (SANs for Unified Communications) to allow the securing of multiple sites with a single Certificate. GlobalSign Certificates are issued from the widely distributed 2048 bit GlobalSign Root CA Certificate, and are compatible with most browsers and mobiles devices.
