Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) July 31, 2013
Grandeur Peak Global Advisors announced that the firm is managing over $1B across its three small cap equity strategies.
The firm launched its first two funds in October of 2011, which were closed to new investors on May 1st of this year. The latest offering, the Global Reach Fund (GPROX/GPRIX) launched last month. The Global Reach Fund is a diversified global equities fund primarily focused on small and micro-cap companies. Said CIO Blake Walker “This Fund will have 300-400 holdings in order to include all of the interesting investment opportunities we are finding among the global small-cap investment universe of more than 30,000 companies. There are so many attractive small companies across the globe that we believe we can create a portfolio that is far more interesting than any index, yet be very diversified.” The Fund’s universe includes developed, emerging, and frontier countries.
Said Mark Siddoway, Head of Client Relations, “We have found great interest among investors in the global small gap segment and in our experienced research team. The biggest challenge for many investors is figuring out where our funds should be slotted within their overall allocation—as few people have global small cap, or even international small cap, broken out as a separate allocation yet. We believe this same lack of attention is part of what makes global small caps such a compelling investment opportunity.”
“Grandeur Peak is committed to limiting assets under management” added president Eric Huefner. “We believe nimbleness is a significant investment advantage in the small and micro cap space. We have additional strategies that we would like to launch, so we consider both the firm’s current and future products as we decide where to close each strategy. We will likely close the Global Reach strategy somewhere in the $300-500M range despite its more diversified list of holdings in order to preserve capacity for future products.”
