WashDCHotels and B. F. Saul Company Steal the Show at Marriott CFRST General Manager's Conference with Two "GM of the Year" Awards

The top honors for two of the five CFRST brands at last month’s Marriott CFRST General Manager’s conference in Indianapolis went to two GMs from the same management/ownership group.

The top honors for two of the five CFRST brands at last month’s Marriott CFRST General Manager’s conference in Indianapolis went to two GMs from the same management/ownership group. Heather Hull, General Manager of the SpringHill Suites Dulles Airport hotel, and Dave Moran, General Manager of the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dulles Airport hotel, are both general managers for B. F. Saul Company, and they both won “GM of the Year” for their respective Marriott brand.

“These awards represent the pinnacle of success!” says B. F. Saul III, owner and president of the B. F. Saul Company. a DC-based hotel ownership and management company. “I am enormously proud of Heather and Dave. As veteran team members who have grown up with us over the years, they are an inspiration to all of us. They show us that hard work, loyalty and outstanding leadership skills pay off in very significant and meaningful ways.”

However, GM of the Year wasn’t the only award that their hotels took home. Both Hull and Moran were named as one of three Diamond General Managers for their brand, and the SpringHill Suites Dulles was named a Platinum Hotel of the Year for having quality excellence scores that ranked among the top eight hotels in the SpringHill system of 274 hotels. In addition, the TownePlace Suites Dulles won an award for the largest year-over-year increase in Overall Satisfaction within the TPS brand of over 190 hotels.

Both awards came as a complete surprise to these two top-notch northern Virginia hotel operators. However, as Dave Moran explains, “This award was not luck. It comes from a great foundation that each of us as hotel managers and team members experience in Our Big 3!”

Due to the recent birth of her first child, Heather was unable to accept the award in person; however it didn’t take long for her to find out the good news. “I am so thankful and honored for the awards,” Heather said in a recent interview. “It would not be possible without the support and leadership over the years of our amazing B. F. Saul Family!!! I feel so blessed to be among such great people.”
