Now is not the time to get out of gold. It’s time to take advantage of excellent prices before we see another rise in the gold price.
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 05, 2013
The gold buying trend in February appeared to be increased interest in physical over paper gold, as the US Mint sold 80,500 ounces of American Eagle gold coins, a monthly year over year increase of 283.3%. This contrasts with the outflow of exchange-traded funds, which reported their biggest combined monthly outflow on record. February saw ETF holdings drop by 109.5 tons and ultimately reach a five month low of 2502.7 tons. Sales of American Silver Eagles were an improvement over last year, as well. The US Mint more than doubled its sales of Silver Eagles with 3.4 million ounces sold.
Arthur McGuire, Vice President of Gold Coin, says, “This trend of investors favoring physical gold ETFs is interesting, especially with the media constantly reporting that the economic outlook is becoming more and more optimistic. All of these investors buying up the famous US coins made very prudent investment decisions. Precious metals may currently be in a slump, but the majority of analysts are saying that gold’s historic bull run is far from over. It’s just taking a break. All of the economic circumstances that played important roles in gold’s rise up to now are still in place. Money printing, demand in Asia, economic uncertainty, political instability, and looming hyperinflation have not gone anywhere. And to assume that they won’t do the same thing to gold that they have been doing for 12 years now is a mistake. Now is not the time to get out of gold. It’s time to take advantage of excellent prices before we see another rise in the gold price.”
