Improving efficiency, reduced processing times and putting more money in the customer's pocket are always the primary objectives at KMG Gold Recycling. With this philosophy in mind, Michael Gupton, President of KMG Environmental Inc. (o/a KMG Gold Recycling) is pleased to announce the addition of a new Fischerscope X-Ray XAN 120 Spectrometer. The new, state-of-the-art technology will substantially improve the speed and efficiency of KMG Gold Recycling's precious metal analysis, a key factor in the refining process. Gupton says, "With only two of these machines in Winnipeg, KMG Gold is committed to providing our customers with the absolute best that the industry has to offer."

The new equipment is optimized for fast, non-destructive analysis of jewellery, precious metals in general, yellow and white gold, platinum and silver, rhodium, coins and all jewellery alloys and coatings. The system provides extreme precision and very low detection limits. In a matter of seconds, all the elements of precious metal, gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc are determined accurately. Whether the intent is to measure a known sample, or to determine unknown materials, the XAN 120 provides results that are fast and accurate.

Long term stability and outstanding precision – better than 1% for gold - are additional benefits of the XAN 120. Measured results are displayed in karats, or weight percent and can be easily printed out as custom reports. The benefit to the consumer is a more precise and timely analysis of the material they wish to recycle and a more accurate payout. Professional jewellers and the aerospace industry benefit from the equipment’s ability to measure plating thickness.

This latest equipment acquisition is part of KMG Gold’s ongoing commitment to use science and technology as a means to both improve their level of service to the consumer and as a tool in their ongoing efforts to help create a more educated consumer.

KMG Gold Recycling buys, recycles, and refines all precious metals including gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Gupton started KMG Gold as an internet gold buyer in 2007 at, and opened their first location in Winnipeg in 2010 and has now expanded into the USA with a location in Grand Forks ND.
