Being a Louisiana native, most of us are, we've experienced all of the wonderment parades have to offer since childhood through Mardi Gras. Getting iinvolved and pushing to ensure this is the best parade ever seemed natural to us.

On the day of the Hollywood Christmas Parade, upwards of 500 Hollywood residents helped. As they arrived, volunteers checked in near Author Services, Inc. (also serving as the parade green room), and were directed to their assigned parade duty. From those stationed all along the route answering people’s questions, to those assisting as ushers in the grandstands, selling program books, checking in media at the red carpet and checking in the volunteers, feeding the volunteers and the nearly three hundred people carrying the 14 balloons, as well as the dozen Hollywood restaurants and clubs providing food and beverages to the volunteers and green room, Hollywood came out to celebrate Hollywood.

One of the participating restaurants was Joshua Kopel, Partner, Five0Four Hollywood who didn’t hesitate to help when asked. In addition to sponsoring beverages for the parade green room, the Five0Four team also provided balloon wranglers to carry Oscar the Grouch down Hollywood Blvd. When asked why he wanted to help, Kopel stated, “I chose to involve myself and the whole Five0Four family because of my love of parades. Being a Louisiana native, most of us are, we've experienced all of the wonderment parades have to offer since childhood through Mardi Gras. Getting involved and pushing to ensure this is the best parade ever seemed natural to us.”

The Grouch was one of 14 balloons in the parade sponsored by Hollywood businesses, including Author Services, Inc, the literary agency for best-selling author L. Ron Hubbard who had several characters from his Stories from the Golden Age books represented in the parade.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade airs Monday, December 10, on the Hallmark Channel. Check directory listings for local broadcast dates and times.
