ivantage has just released its Autumn schedule of the popular Google Analytics and Google Adwords hands-on, training workshops. These workshops are delivered in central London, in modern air-conditioned classrooms. Unlike many other training providers, ivantage course instructors use Google Adwords and Google Analytics on a daily basis and are therefore extremely well positioned to teach and offer practical advice on how attendees can get the best from these traffic generation and analysis tools.

Public, hands-on workshops are priced at £495 per attendee and attract 25% off when booked 30 days in advance. All workshops are available privately for on-site delivery at £1,250 per workshop day and for those organisations sending three or more attendees, this works out to be very cost effective.

Another interesting observation is that these are interactive, hands-on, practical workshops. When you attend, you are asked to bring with you your Google Analytics and Google Adwords credentials so you can log into your accounts and use your data as you learn. "It's a very effective way to learn", said Matt Trimmer who teaches the majority of the Google Analytics courses. "We don't sit you down and provide you with a training monologue, but teach you interactively using your accounts, campaigns and data as we go through the syllabus." Their modern training rooms just next door to the famous London landmark - the BT tower, are equipped with modern PCs, comfortable desks and chairs, fast Internet and good tea and coffee! Attendees can use the classroom PCs or connect their own laptops to the wireless guest network.

Both the Google Analytics and Google Adwords Workshops are two days in length but you can opt to attend just one day if you think that's going to work for you.

"With Google Analytics we split the Workshop into Day 1 - Google Analytics Interpretation and Day 2 - Google Analytics Configuration". I asked Matt, if that seemed a little round the wrong way? "No it's quite deliberate in fact, we find Marketers want to know how to interpret their data and as they are doing so, often find something is amiss with their Google Analytics configuration (for example Cookies used by Google Analytics are being contaminated by an error in the configuration) or they had not realised how sophisticated Google Analytics is and want to make more use of the advanced features such as User Defined Segments, or Event Tracking. Then, they come on Day 2 - Google Analytics Configuration and learn how to fix these problems and use the advanced features. It seems to work well that way." Is day 2 technical? "To a certain extent Yes, Configuring Google Analytics is something of a technical business, but we help those who are not as technical as others and for those that are technical we can often speak about their specific issues during breaks and after the training".

Sharron Lonsdale, who teaches the majority of the Google Adwords courses and is a Senior Consultant and Account Manager at ivantage, has also put a lot of thought into the development of the two day Google Adwords workshop. "With Day 1- Google Adwords Essentials, I want students to go away with a sound grasp of how to set-up a really effective and well structured Adwords campaign generating RoI. If you already have an Adwords Campaign, then you will be able to measure the success of your campaigns and go away from day 1 of the Workshop with many ideas for improvements you can make and ways in which you can extend your campaigns to exploit the most successful areas for your business. With Day 2- we get more sophisticated and learn how to use the more advanced features that Google Adwords has to offer. This is going to suit those people who have a significant investment in Google Adwords and it is an important part of their business or perhaps, they are managing campaigns on behalf of someone else -working in an agency for example."
