Today at the National School Boards Association (NSBA) annual conference, Pearson announced ten new online math and English courses for students in grades 9-12, all fully designed to meet Common Core standards. The courses for Algebra I and II, Intermediate Math I, II, and III, Geometry, and English I through IV are part of the cost-effective and comprehensive online learning program GradPoint. In addition to meeting Common Core State Standards (CCSS), each offering is aligned to the International Association for K–12 Online Learning (iNACOL) National Standards of Quality, and 21st Century Learning Skills as defined by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21).

These courses complement GradPoint’s current standards-aligned programs, which include more than 150 core, elective, honors, and Advanced Placement® courses for grades 6–12.

Dr. Steven Guttentag, president of Pearson’s Connections Learning business said, “School districts typically have to run multiple costly course platforms and programs to meet their educational needs. As a comprehensive, single-platform solution, GradPoint can help schools streamline their efforts, reduce costs, and most importantly, meet the needs of individual students."

More than 60 new project-based lessons are included in the courses and focus on the development of critical-thinking skills, peer collaboration, and the use of digital media.

Since announced in June 2012, GradPoint has engaged 500,000 registered users from 335 school districts in 43 states.
