On Wednesday, Grantham University welcomed Brigadier General (ret.) Tracy Beckette and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve(ESGR) as the organization hosted its first Employer Advisory Council Meeting.

The Employer Advisory Council brings together some of Kansas City’s largest businesses and organizations to review the ESGR’s comprehensive plan to provide National Guard and Reserve members and their spouses with training, preparation and access to the civilian job market. Employers ranging from Hallmark to Black & Veatch to the Kansas City Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management engaged in the discussion regarding meaningful implementation programming and the development of an enhanced strategic plan for ESGR.

“We were honored to host the Employer Advisory Council meeting on behalf of ESGR, and enjoyed participating in the discussion with some of the region’s most respected employers,” said Shanna Fowler, Career Services manager. “Grantham University has a rich history of supporting veteran and active service members through a variety of degree programs and career services assistance. Our goal is to help ease the transition from military to civilian life, and working with ESGR is a great opportunity to share best practices.”

Grantham’s mission is to provide accessible, affordable, professionally relevant degree programs in a continuously changing global society.
