The GraTRUEities Story
The concept for GraTRUEities originated over 10 years ago when two college friends, Julie and Nancy, were dining out in San Francisco. As they tell their story...
“We experienced an amusing, also frustrating service with our waiter, Josh. He spoke so softly and mumbled to the point we could not understand a word he said, even after asking him to repeat himself. When the check arrived, we joked that we should give him a literal tip -- “Speak up!” -- along with his gratuity.
Over the years, whenever we dined out, discussing the appropriate “tip” to accompany the gratuity became a running theme and source of entertainment. With input from Nancy’s son, Brian, we came up with the name – and GraTRUEities was officially born."
