“The addition of Kroy to our list of Green Approved products is the next step in our Ply Gem Enviro commitment to creating sustainable exterior solutions for homes,” said Keith Pigues, chief marketing officer, Ply Gem.
Cary, N.C. (PRWEB) May 5, 2010
Ply Gem, a leading manufacturer of exterior building products for the residential construction market, announced that Kroy® by Ply Gem vinyl railing and composite railing products are National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center Green Approved. The Green Approved mark indicates that approved products comply with specific green practice criteria in the National Green Building Standard™ and can be used by builders to earn points toward National Green Building Certification to the Standard.
Upon launching the Ply Gem Enviro™ initiative in January 2009, Ply Gem laid a roadmap for the development of green products, the use of environmentally responsible practices in operations, and contribution to the improved energy efficiency and lifecycle benefits of homes.
“The addition of Kroy to our list of Green Approved products is the next step in our Ply Gem Enviro commitment to creating sustainable exterior solutions for homes,” said Keith Pigues, chief marketing officer, Ply Gem. “Our customers can use Green Approved Kroy products to complement our windows, siding and stone veneer and extend the Designed Exterior by Ply Gem outside walls of a home and into the landscape with a coordinated building materials portfolio that helps create a smart, sustainable and beautiful exterior.”
The NAHB Research Center recognized Kroy products for Green Approved status based on their termite resistance features. Kroy joins an extensive list of Ply Gem products that have earned Green Approved Status. Ply Gem windows and doors, vinyl siding, aluminum products, stone veneer and polymer siding attained NAHB Green Approved status in 2009 for various eco-friendly characteristics. Style and durability of the Green Approved products are not limited because of the eco-friendly properties. Rather, the products’ green and aesthetic properties make them ideal solutions for new home designs or home renovations with the intent of maximizing beauty and lowering environmental impact.
“Kroy by Ply Gem vinyl railing and composite railing set the standard for aesthetics, durability, low maintenance and ease of installation,” said Dave Jacobson, product manager, Ply Gem siding group. “Kroy products are also available in one of the industry's widest selections of styles and colors.”
