Appraisers, Builders, and Remodelers: Partners in Green Valuation is being hosted by AES, Alliance for Environmental Sustainability at the ComEd Oak Brook Commercial Building on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, with national green appraisal expert Sandra Adomatis and local green appraisal expect Michael Hobbs.
Sandra K. Adomatis, SRA, of Adomatis Appraisal Service, is a national expert on appraising energy efficient and green homes who speaks regularly for the Appraisal Institute and is authoring the new Residential and Commercial Valuation in Solar course. Adomatis will describe the appraisal process as it pertains to the proper use of valuation tools to differentiate 'Green'-built residences from 'Code'-built residences. Additionally, topics to be covered will include the Appraisal Institute’s Green and Energy Efficient Addendum, the importance of selecting experienced and credentialed valuation professionals, and selecting a lender who understands energy efficiency, sustainability and green construction.
Michael Hobbs, SRA, LEED GA, of PahRoo Appraisal & Consultancy, is a local expert on real estate appraisal and sustainable and energy efficiency's impact on property values. Hobbs will provide an overview of the Green Room, MRED LLC's emphasis on recognizing green features and amenities in real estate, as well as summarize local activity from green homes and developments in the Chicago metro area.

Sandra K. Adomatis, SRA, is the President of Adomatis Appraisal Service, a residential real estate appraisal firm in Punta Gorda, Florida. For over 30 years, she has been a member of the Appraisal Institute. During that time, she has served as Chair of the National Demonstration Report Writing Committee, Vice Chair and Chair of the National Education Committee, Grader of exams for national courses and demonstration reports, Regional X Education Liaison, West Coast Florida Chapter President in 2009, Regional Representative, Chapter Director, and member of the local Chapter education committee. She is an instructor for Appraisal Institute seminars and courses and has been published in the Appraisal Journal. Sandra is a national speaker on the topic of green valuation, representing the Appraisal Institute at conferences such as the National Association of Home Builders, United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and various other groups around the United States. Most recently, she received the prestigious Dr. William N. Kinnard Jr. award which recognizes professionalism in education.
Michael Hobbs, SRA, LEED GA, is the President of PahRoo Appraisal & Consultancy, a multi-disciplinary real estate appraisal and consulting firm founded in 2000. He is a state-certified real estate appraiser in Illinois, performing court testimony as an expert witness in various local, state and federal courts. He holds the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute and has achieved LEED GA, an accreditation of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). He is a regularly published author and speaker on the topic of real estate, valuation and entrepreneurship.
