Grey Oaks is blessed to have a community of selfless members and residents. They are continually giving back to the Collier County community and it is rewarding to see the glow of a smiling family as a result of the work provided by Habitat for Humanity.

Grey Oaks Country Club Community volunteers participated in the 2012 Annual Build Day benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Collier County on February 09, 2012. Over 100 people showed up to dedicate time to raising the walls on two homes that will allow the owners to create special family moments together that will last a lifetime.

Annual Build Day began in the morning with two bus-loads of volunteers arriving with hopes to make a difference and benefit the community. Volunteers also benefited from the community support at the event with wonderful camaraderie between all involved. “You can’t believe what a great community they have” says Grey Oaks Member, Don Hays, about the Habitat for Humanity community. The volunteers this year would like to have at least 150 volunteers next year so more families will be able to renew their hope for a better life.

Jim Butler, General Manager of Grey Oaks Country Club comments on the volunteer participation “Grey Oaks is blessed to have a community of selfless members and residents. They are continually giving back to the Collier County community and it is rewarding to see the glow of a smiling family as a result of the work provided by Habitat for Humanity. We are so proud of the leadership at Habitat for Humanity community.” Through the state’s Community Contribution Tax Credit Program the volunteer hours leveraged $50,000 of Grey Oaks Country Club’s sales tax dollars back to the affiliate to fund a Habitat home.

Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is a non-profit, Christian organization and their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. There is a place for everyone to share their time, talents and treasure. Some volunteers pound nails, others use a paintbrush, some participate in family selection, some act as family mentors, and some contribute financially.
