Dearborn National® is pleased to announce the promotion of two of its executives: Brian Griffin and Craig Nordyke.
“Over the past few years, Dearborn National has emerged as a formidable competitor in the marketplace,” explained Tony Trani, President and CEO. “A key to our success moving forward is our people. Therefore, I am pleased to announce the promotion of Brian Griffin to Divisional Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, and the promotion of Craig Nordyke to Divisional Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.”
In his new role, Brian Griffin will be responsible for aligning sales and marketing functions across Dearborn National. Griffin has held the position of Vice President of Sales, Regional Markets since joining the organization in 2009.
“Since joining the organization, Brian has set sales records each year in numerous categories and recently surpassed our previous annual sales record by more than 44 percent at the end of October,” said Trani. “Brian has strong leadership qualities and a strong strategic view of our marketplace. His vision for Dearborn National will help take us to the next level and beyond,” Trani added.
Griffin has more than 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry and has been recognized industry-wide for his success in management of sales and multi-site business operations. He has previously served in a variety of senior management roles at MetLife, including Vice President of Sales, Individual Disability, Vice President of Regional Sales and Vice President of Strategic Alliances. He has also held positions at North American Life and Unum Life Insurance Company.
Griffin received a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University’s School of Business. He is a former Board Member of the International Disability Income Society and a current Board Member of the Laurus Foundation, which advances the lives of individuals with disabilities.
In his new role, Craig Nordyke will guide Dearborn National’s administration, underwriting, product and actuarial areas. Nordyke has held the position of Vice President and Chief Actuary since 2008 when he joined the organization.
“Craig’s promotion is well earned and a positive step in the development of Dearborn National,” said Trani. “He exercises sound judgment in his business decisions and has been instrumental in helping Dearborn National achieve national recognition,” Trani added.
Nordyke has more than 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry and has spent more than 25 years in actuarial management and operations. Before joining Dearborn National, he served as Vice President and Actuary at TIAA-CREF in North Carolina, and as Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary of Paragon Life Insurance Company, a MetLife company in St. Louis, Missouri.
