TransportationReviews.com announces the creation of the first transparency rating system for the U.S. ground transportation industry, called the GroundCar Score™. The purpose of this transparency rating system is to encourage vehicle-for-hire companies including taxi, shuttle, limousine, and bus operators to disclose industry specific information to the general public who are seeking transportation services.
TransportationReviews.com provides company specific information on over 3,000 transportation companies who provide passenger ground transportation services to and from major U.S. commercial airports and surrounding area destinations. All ground transportation companies displayed within their online directories are rated and assigned a GroundCar Score™.
Unlike other online directories which typically list companies alphabetically or based on undisclosed biased incentives, TransportationReviews.com lists companies based on highest to lowest GroundCar Scores™. Scores range from 0 to 100. Higher Scores generally indicate a greater level of transparency or willingness of a transportation company to provide important industry specific information including a complete business address, permit information, transfer or hourly rates, a cancellation policy, and other important factual information.
Although the ground transportation industry is regulated, many federal and state sponsored transportation agencies do not require ground transportation companies to provide or disclose their website address information to the state. As a result, the online activities of ground transportation companies are not monitored or enforced. According to President, Todd Nemet, "Our GroundCar Score™ provides site visitors assurance when reserving ground transportation online."
The creation of the GroundCar Score™ allows site visitors to monitor, compare, and quantify the level of transparency at a company, state-wide and national level. According to Todd Nemet "I have personally reviewed over 5,000 ground transportation websites to create this new transportation directory. The inaccuracies and lack of information within the transportation industry is alarming. Our goal is to communicate these facts to policy makers and most importantly to the traveling public for their safety and security."
