Beginning Saturday December 8, 2007, FareCompare.com sent Grumpy Santa on a 12 day journey to all 48-contiguous U.S. states. Without a sleigh. The nose leading Santa's way is not red but a big metal Boeing 737 in some cases. Why is he Grumpy? Santa is riding on most all the major airlines and stopping at numerous airports which might make anyone just a little cranky. Specifically, 66 flights, 56 airports, 48 states, 12 airlines and a partridge in a pear tree.

As part of a holiday promotion, FareCompare.com's Santa will be touching down in each of the 48 contiguous States (if all goes well). He will help highlight some of the challenges that holiday travelers are facing this time of year such as the packed planes, the delays and cancellations, and the long lines at security checkpoints. Grumpy Santa will be talking to TSA agents, flight crews and of course, passengers: he'll get an up-close-and personal view of the good, the bad and the ugly of today's air travel during the 66 flights in 12 days.
