Grunard, the latest name in performance fashion apparel, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their initial line of men’s and women’s clothing. Founded in October 2013, Grunard merges the realms of fashion and performance apparel, giving consumers a line of high-quality, fashionable clothing items. Grunard chose to run their campaign on Kickstarter in order to raise the $45,000 needed to help offset the initial costs of production and manufacturing.
All Grunard clothing is made from 100% New Zealand Merino wool. Harvested from the Merino sheep, Merino wool is highly sought after by manufacturers of performance apparel and high-end fashion. By utilizing Merino wool, Grunard provides consumers with apparel that is adept at body temperature regulation while also being luxuriously soft to the touch.
“We chose Merino wool because of its fantastic properties,” says Isaac Kneubuhl, co-founder of Grunard. “We wanted our apparel to not only be functional, but also fashionable. The initial men’s line will feature six different articles of clothing. Consumers will be able to choose from a tank top, short sleeve v-neck, long sleeve v-neck, two-tone long sleeve v-neck, hoodie and polo shirt. The women’s line will feature four items including a fitted tank top and long sleeve as well as two lifestyles featuring a loose fit long sleeve and tank top. Each item will initially be made in two colors: navy and black, and sizing will run from S-XL for men and XS-L for women. More styles and color options will become available at higher funding levels.
