Winter on the Gulf Coast has felt like early spring for most area businesses. Temperatures have stayed steady in the low 70's and rain has been minimal. This is the time of year that attraction and lodging businesses start preparing for the next tourist season, but the unexpected change in weather has kept some Gulf Coast companies busy.

Travel website TripShock.com has reported record website traffic and double the bookings from last winter season. Market Manager Greg Fisher claims the weather has a lot to do with it.

"When the weather is great, people will spend money. It's hard to enjoy the Gulf Coast when it's cold out because the area thrives on outdoor recreation. Dolphin tours, golf courses and fishing charters are really taking full advantage of this weather and we are doing a lot of business because of it." Fisher says.
