Gutter Guards Withstand Tornado Winds In Michigan And Save Homeowners Thousands of Dollars

130 - 140 mph winds are no match for gutter covers by GutterTopper®

Cincinnati, OH - February 26, 2008 - Homeowners learned that Mother Nature was no match for Gutter Topper® gutter guards when a tornado struck Williamston, Michigan on Oct. 18, 2007. Houses in the path of the tornado experienced extensive damage from the howling and swirling 130-140 mph winds. But, as shown by photos taken immediately after the tornado, Gutter Topper's® gutter covers held securely in place even under such extreme conditions.

Gutter Topper's® authorized dealer, Sunrise Seamless, took the photos in the days following the tornado's fury. They found that their Gutter Topper® installations survived, even though these houses were in the direct path of the tornado. And, as also shown by the photos, competing gutter guard products were "Gone With The Wind" - and some of the homes weren't even in the direct path of the tornado's worst winds.

"Obviously, we were saddened to see the death and destruction caused by this tornado. The only good thing about all of this was that our product minimized the damage for our customers' homes. Gutter Topper® passed severe independent testing and has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal.

Now It looks like Mother Nature has put her seal of approval on Gutter Topper® as well, which should bring peace of mind to our customers," said Tony Iannelli, inventor of Gutter Topper®.

PRI Construction Material Technologies, an independent testing firm for the roofing and construction industries, tested Gutter Topper® against the worst that Mother Nature could dish out. Passing in every tested category, Gutter Topper® gutter guards are certified to:

  • Stop leaves, twigs and debris
  • Resist winds of up to 110 mph (Miami-Dade County standards, the strictest in the United States)
  • Handle downpours of up to 22" per hour / 528" per day
  • Withstand up to 1,200 lbs. of weight per sq. ft.
Gutter Topper® gutter guards are the only U.S. manufactured gutter covers that have met the strict testing guidelines of PRI. And, as proven by the tornado in Michigan, Gutter Topper® survived conditions that were even worse than the conditions in these independent tests.

Gutter Topper ® offers a free estimate by any of its nationwide local dealers which can be scheduled at its website at www.GutterTopper.com.
