Portland, OR (PRWEB) October 7, 2009
Instantiations, Inc., a leading provider of software quality, security and productivity solutions for the Eclipse open source software platform, today announced an upgrade to version 7.2 of its popular graphical user interface (GUI) building product, GWT Designer™. GWT Designer v7.2 includes support for the Ext GWT (GXT) Java library, as well as continued support for the latest releases of Google Web Toolkit (GWT) through v1.7.1, the addition of a multi-page CSS Style Editor, and other CSS enhancements and speed improvements.
"Instantiations has done an excellent job with GWT Designer. I have been a happy user for two years now, and will attest that this product takes the pain out of creating GWT applications," said Lawrence Rama, Senior Software Engineer and GWT Designer customer. "I just tried the new feature with Ext GWT. It's awesome. Not only is it faster, but the improvements are great. I'm going to start porting my app to GXT right away. I've been trying to promote GWT Designer to everyone I know, pointing out the fact that its reasonably priced and it does what it's supposed to do exceptionally well."
As the preeminent Eclipse-based GUI creation tool for use with GWT, GWT Designer supports such features as drag-and-drop GUI building and bi-directional code generation, and provides several useful wizards to make GWT development easier. GWT Designer was the first comprehensive tool for creating Ajax web applications, and is built on the award-winning WindowBuilder™ Pro, Instantiations market-leading Eclipse tool for creating Java GUI applications. WindowBuilder Pro was awarded the "Best Commercial Eclipse-Based Developer Tool" by the Eclipse Foundation at EclipseCon 2009.
"The addition of GXT support allows our users to choose between the most popular widget libraries, and significantly enhances the design possibilities using GWT Designer," said Eric Clayberg, senior vice president of product development, co-founder of Instantiations, Inc. and author of Eclipse Plug-ins. "We are committed to staying current with Google's GWT updates, and are always listening to our customers to determine which third-party widget-kits we should support. Responding to our customers needs is the primary reason for GWT Designer's continued popularity."
GWT Designer 7.2 Features
GWT Designer uses wizards, WYSIWYG builders and code generation to help developers rapidly create and test GUIs in Eclipse and Java before deploying them as Ajax applications. GWT Designer 7.2 includes the following new features and enhancements:
Comprehensive support for the Ext GWT (GXT) v2.0.1 widget library. This widely-requested addition to the design workbench lets GWT Designer take advantage of Ext GWT's robust Java library for building rich internet applications. With this support, GWT Designer adds multiple Ext GWT-specific palette categories for Ext GWT Panels, Layouts, Widgets, Forms, Menus and Toolbars. It provides WYSIWYG editing for all Ext GWT components, properties and layouts, and also adds several Ext GWT-specific wizards for creating Ext GWT Windows, Dialogs and Composites.
Syncing with GWT 1.7, which adds better support for Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4.
Improved CSS Support with enhancements have been made to CSS editing, with a new multi-page CSS Style Editor; enhancements to the CSS Style Editor Dialog and CSS Style Name property, and more.
Parsing and Speed Improvements throughout.
