The open gym time is a great way to keep children occupied while parents pick out items
Emeryville, CA (PRWEB) December 13, 2011
Bay Area athletic arts school, Head Over Heels, is hosting a Peace.Love.Swap event on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The Peace.Love.Swap event aims to keep perfectly reusable items out of landfills and to donate to local charities by producing fun, affordable and family friendly swaps on an ongoing basis. Participants can bring their gently used and clean baby, toddler, kid and maternity items to the swap and will be able to pick up items that they need. The event provides an earth-friendly opportunity for parents to get rid of clothing, books, toys, and other items their children have outgrown and get the next size up. Peace.Love.Swap charges $5 to participate in the swap and is free for those who can volunteer at the event.
Bay Area’s competitive gymnastics at Head Over Heels (HOH) will be offering Open Gym time at the event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a fee of $10, or $5 for swap participants. For safety purposes, Open Gym will be capped at 40 children and participation is on a first come, first serve basis.
“The open gym time is a great way to keep children occupied while parents pick out items,” says Diedra Bassel of HOH.
Participants can drop off items between 11 a.m. and noon. Peace.Love.Swap would like the items washed before drop off and all clothing items should be on hangers except for pants, shorts and skirts for newborn through 18 month sizes. Left over items at the end of the event will be donated to the Emeryville Community Action Project, an organization that gives much needed items away to those less fortunate.
Peace.Love.Swap is held quarterly at the gym.
