San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 03, 2012
Gynecomastia.org continues to rank in the very top of the organic listings on Google for anything related to gynecomastia (male breasts). An interactive forum spotlights the website where members have the ability to ask other forum members questions and share stories. Gynecomastia.org requires American surgeon members to be Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and the equivalent for surgeons who are members from outside the country. Member surgeons also interact with forum members, contributing comments and medical opinions.
ASAPS is one of the most prestigious plastic surgery societies in the United States and requires all surgeon members to be Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. ASAPS reported that for 2011, there were 17,645 gynecomastia procedures performed. At their annual convention they invite exhibitors to display the latest trends in plastic surgery. In addition to the exhibits they feature optional courses for the surgeon members and special seminars for in-depth exposure to specific techniques and topics.
The premier for the Gynecomastia.org booth will be for attendees to view the website and ask questions. The newly designed website features a category “Find a Surgeon” for the convenience of the forum members searching for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in their area. The site also has an area for surgeon members to post before and after pictures of their patients and any educational videos they may have produced. An area of the website is dedicated for surgeons to post blogs for information they wish to share with the forum members.
The forum currently has almost 17,000 registered users. Over 12,000 have been online some time during the past 5 years. Over 11,000 have posted at least one message to the forum and almost 300 have posted over 100 messages. Individual members come and go, but there are several hundred unique active registered users in any given week.
Gynecomastia.org was created in 1999 by Merle Yost LMFT, a dedicated psychologist in the treatment of gynecomastia. After many years of being actively involved, Dr. Miguel A. Delgado, Jr. purchased the web site. His goal is maintaining and expanding Gynecomastia.org as the “World’s best information source on gynecomastia”.
