Winter Park, FL - On January 17, 2009, Full Sail University (http://www.fullsail.edu)], an award-winning entertainment media university near Orlando, FL, held the video game wedding event, "A Match Made in Halo." The wedding took place at the Orlando Science Center (http://www.osc.org) during the video game convention, Otronicon (http://www.otronicon.org), where Full Sail also served as the presenting sponsor.

The couple was married in front of a large crowd of family, friends and local guests in a fully themed Halo wedding event. Elements of the Halo theme included: game Master Chief serving as the officiant; bridal party attire featuring bride and groom's Halo emblems; a string quartet to play Halo soundtrack music; a Halo-themed wedding cake; and Halo décor throughout the ceremony and reception, and more.

The bride and groom and avid gamers, Desirai Labrada and John Henry, met while playing Halo online in December 2004 through the Xbox Live system. In August 2005, Labrada relocated to Florida and began her studies at Full Sail University in the Digital Media Degree Program. The couple continued their relationship while now living together in Central Florida.

MTV's Multiplayer Editor, Stephen Totilo, blogged about the progression of the wedding plans and featured 60-second videos before the wedding day. In January, MTV News traveled to Orlando to cover the wedding, and featured a segment on MTV that aired on January 30.

The couple also received numerous donations from businesses in the Central Florida area to create the memorable Halo-themed occasion. They are the following: Apple Blossom Florist & Gifts (http://www.appleblossomflorist.com); Aquallusion (aquallusion.com); Aramark (aramark.com); Atlantis 9 (atlantis9.com), Becky Lantree - Art Under Glass; C & S Themed Events (themed-events.com); Clambake Partners; Copperhead Salon (copperheadsalon.com); DKN-tertainment (dkn-tertainment.com); Enemy Ink (enemyink.com); Good 2 Go Event Management Inc.
