Hammes Company was selected as our real estate partner due to its proven track record of maximizing value, accelerating construction schedules, offering competitive physician rental rates and working with local vendors.
Santa Rosa, Calif. / Irvine, Calif. (PRWEB) May 09, 2012
After a local and nationwide selection process, Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa (SMCSR), part of the Sutter Health Network, announced its choice of Hammes Company to develop an on-campus, state-of-the-art medical office building as an integrated addition to its new Santa Rosa hospital campus. The campus is prominently located at the interchange of Mark West Springs Road and U.S. Highway 101.
“Hammes Company was selected as our real estate partner due to its proven track record of maximizing value, accelerating construction schedules, offering competitive physician rental rates and working with local vendors,” explains Mike Purvis, SMCSR Chief Administrative Officer.
SMCSR is constructing a $284 million acute-care facility, including all private rooms, which will provide the highest quality of care for the community. Playing a vital role in the integrated campus’ plans is the development of an 80,000 square foot medical office building. Hammes Company, the nation’s leading healthcare facility developer, will lead all development, leasing and capital financing initiatives for the medical office building project.
“Hammes Company’s role as our developer will include leasing of the new medical office building. We are excited to strengthen relationships with the area’s top healthcare professionals who plan to join us at our new campus,” says Mr. Purvis.
The medical office building will house ambulatory services and physician office space available for lease. The Hammes team brings an unparalleled track record of working collaboratively with physicians in the development of high-quality medical office facilities that are cost-effective and operationally efficient. Jim Kobayashi will lead this effort and can be contacted at jkobayashi(at)hammesco(dot)com or 949-705-0900.
When completed, the environmentally sustainable facility will be LEED© Silver certified and meet all U.S. Green Building Council standards. The MOB will also meet all California Green (CALGreen) Building Standards Code requirements. CALGreen was established in 2011 to cut construction waste, reduce environmental impact during construction and foster more energy-efficient buildings.
“As work ramps up, we look forward to building on our significant track record of development success with leading healthcare systems such as Swedish Health Services in the Northwest, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare in the Midwest, St. Luke's Episcopal Health System in the South and Sentara Healthcare in the Mid-Atlantic,” says Kevin Kraiss, Senior Vice President with Hammes Company.
“We recognize the critical importance of the new medial campus to Sutter Health’s mission and we will provide flexible, competitive development solutions in order to deliver an attractive environment for both physicians and patients.”
