Banjos Direct is the only retailer to be selling the Crawford Banjos range of three openback handmade banjos, one five string resonator and one tenor banjo.
Crawford Banjos, located in Northern Ireland, was set up in 2008 by Robert Crawford, after more than 15 years of experience in the luthier trade.
Robert Crawford hand-builds visually stunning and tonally excellent banjos that are truly made to last and designed for musicians from all fields.
The range now available from Banjos Direct includes three openback banjos. The Maple Wildflower is a superb lightweight affordable handmade banjo with a beautifully crafted tone-rim, negating the need for a separate tone ring. The OTC is a superb old time banjo with 1/2" maple rim and mahogany neck, with a rolled brass tone ring.
Other models include the stunning OTF (Old Time Frailer), the stylish Dorado resonator model designed for Bluegrass and progressive banjo styles, with tunneled 5th string, and the powerful and appropriately named Force tenor banjo.
All Crawford banjos from Banjos Direct come with a lifetime manufacturer's guarantee.
Simon Middleton, founder and CEO of Banjos Direct commented: "We are so thrilled to be selling Robert Crawford's wonderful instruments. They are built with such knowledge and care, and sound so wonderful, and of course they are genuine collectible instruments which will hold their value as real investments."
"At Banjos Direct we intend to support small makers wherever we can by offering them a market place which can reach a much wider audience. Crawford Banjos are amongst the first of these, and if we are supported by players and collectors then more makers will soon be appearing on our site too," Middleton added.
Banjos Direct is the UK's fastest-growing specialist banjo retailer and manufacturer, leading the renaissance of interest in the banjo amongst players of every age and background. The Norwich-based company is the UK's leading stockist of USA banjo brands GoldTone and Nechville, and also stocks instruments by Barnes & Mullins, Pilgrim and Tanglewood. It has recently announced its move into banjo manufacturing with the launch of the all-British made Islander OB-01.
The company are also sponsors and Associate Producers of The Porchlight Sessions, a feature length documentary film about Bluegrass music being premiered later this year.
Founder and CEO of Banjos Direct, Simon Middleton, is also frontman of English-Americana band The Proposition, whose debut album King Snake, Devil Shake was released in March this year. Middleton is the author of several books on branding and marketing, including 'Build A Brand In 30 Days' and the new guide to personal branding 'Brand New You'.
