Hansen Wholesale has increased their selection of greener alternative ceiling fans with the introduction of two new super-efficient Emerson Eco Ceiling Fans with DC Motors. The new fans were introduced by Emerson at the annual lighting trade show in Dallas, TX and are the most efficient Energy Star certified ceilings fans ever to have passed the EPA efficiency test.

Hansen Wholesale was the first in their industry to widely promote these new eco-friendly fans in an effort to educate consumers of their energy saving benefits. The new DC motors use 75% less electricity without sacrificing airflow, making them over 3 times more efficient than ordinary fans with AC motors. This new DC motor technology is revolutionizing the ceiling fan industry as other manufacturers are scrambling to produce similar fans to keep up with Emerson. With the addition of these new Eco fans, Emerson now makes the top three most efficient Energy Star qualified ceiling fans on the market, and Hansen Wholesale is the first ceiling fan dealer in the country to make them available for purchase online.

In order for any ceiling fan to be Energy Star qualified, it has to meet EPA standards for quality and durability, and must undergo a testing procedure to calculate efficiency. During the EPA efficiency test, sensors measure the CFMs (Cubic Feet per Minute) of airflow that the fan produces while also keeping track of the amount of electricity it consumes.

The efficiency rating is then calculated by dividing the CFMs that were produced by the Watts consumed (CFM/WATTS). This information is included on the packaging of every Energy Star ceiling fan and gives consumers an easy way to compare the efficiency of different models. The new Emerson Eco fans score 345 Watts/CFM on the EPA efficiency test, as compared to the 76 CFM/Watt produced by the average ceiling fan.
