HCG Diet Direct responds to a recent survey that concludes that hiring officers are more likely to hire slim applicants than overweight or obese applicants. The magazine (Personnel Today) survey had 2,000 participants. The participants surveyed were personnel officers responsible for hiring in a wide variety of companies.
50% of those surveyed thought obesity affected productivity. Close to 50% also believed that obese and overweight people lacked self discipline. The conclusions indicate that overweight and obese individuals looking for work are less likely to succeed than their slim competition.
Jenny Boynton of HCG Diet Direct responded, “This is just one of many studies that indicate that obese and overweight people are being marginalized in the workplace. Their opportunities and possibilities are limited in comparison to competition in the workplace with similar experience and slimmer waistlines.”
HCG Diet Direct sees increasing numbers of career oriented individuals looking to get ahead at work by reducing their weight. The company offers tools and homeopathic weight loss solutions to suit the needs of the professional as well as the many other individuals who turn to HCG for drastic weight loss.
10% of personnel officers polled in the study indicated that they would avoid situations that would require an obese or overweight employee to meet a client. 10% also believed that obesity was a fair cause to fire an employee. These statistics indicate that obesity could be a matter for consideration when it comes to consideration; along the lines of sex, race, age, etc.
