Toshiba Announces New Satellite A205 Series Laptop with HD DVD for $1,149.99(1)

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its latest Satellite(R) A205 notebook with select models featuring cutting-edge HD DVD playback functionality.

    Toshiba's Satellite A205 series provides users with a blend of power and performance, and has now ventured into the realm of high-definition. The Satellite A205-S7468 is equipped with an HD DVD optical drive, which allows users to enjoy stunning HD movies on the laptop's 720p high-definition 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite(R) display. Toshiba's patented TruBrite technology further helps provide enhanced high-definition picture quality and rich color saturation.

The HD DVD format provides viewers with a visual experience that's beyond the current DVD standard. Today's DVD format has a maximum playback resolution of 480p, while HD DVDs offer an image resolution that is up to six times sharper.
