Director of the Steward Center for Palliative Care to Speak at National Conference

Hospice Savannah affiliate Laura Wiggins, Director of the Steward Center for Palliative Care, will speak at the National Hospice and Palliative Care annual leadership conference.

Laura N. Wiggins, MSN, APRN, BC-ANP, ACHPN has been selected to speak at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s 28th annual Management and Leadership Conference to be held in National Harbor, Maryland in April, 2013.

As the Director of The Steward Center for Palliative Care (affiliated with not for profit Hospice Savannah, Inc.), Laura will focus on the partnership between The Steward Center, Memorial Health University Medical Center, the Anderson Cancer Institute, and the Lewis Cancer Research Pavilion. Her talk is entitled “It’s called Collaboration; A Joint Venture to provide a Palliative Program of Excellence.”

Laura joined Hospice Savannah, Inc. in 2001 and has been a Nurse Practitioner with The Steward Center for Palliative Care for nine years, being named Director in 2010. She is a member of the current 2012-2013 Leadership Savannah class and holds professional memberships in the Nurse Practitioner Council of Coastal Georgia, the Oncology Nursing Society, and the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
