We are honored and proud of David’s latest contribution to the healthcare industry sharing his knowledge and expertise in the area of executive compensation and governance
(PRWEB) April 10, 2012
Integrated Healthcare Strategies, a national compensation and human resource consulting firm dedicated exclusively to healthcare, is pleased to announce that one of its senior consultants, healthcare executive compensation expert, David A. Bjork, PhD, has authored the book “Healthcare Executive Compensation: A Guide for Leaders and Trustees.”
The book, newly released to the public and now available for purchase, was published by Health Administration Press in collaboration with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), an international professional society of more than 40,000 healthcare leaders dedicated to improving healthcare delivery.
In the book, Bjork delivers advice to healthcare CEOs on managing compensation and to board compensation committees on governing executive compensation. The book provides insights, guidance, and best practice strategies on issues such as compensation philosophy, structuring executive compensation programs, emphasizing pay-for-performance, and public transparency. The book’s contents are particularly relevant in the current healthcare environment, where executive compensation generates an astonishing amount of public controversy.
“We are honored and proud of David’s latest contribution to the healthcare industry sharing his knowledge and expertise in the area of executive compensation and governance,” said Bob Erra, President of Integrated Healthcare Strategies. “He is truly one of the industry’s foremost thought leaders.”
David Bjork, PhD, is Senior Vice President and Senior Advisor of the Executive Compensation and Governance practice at Integrated Healthcare Strategies. Drawing on thirty years of executive compensation consulting experience and his deep understanding of healthcare organizations and executive compensation in the healthcare industry, Dr. Bjork has helped clients, including many of the country’s largest healthcare systems, with executive compensation issues, post-merger integration, leadership transition, intermediate sanctions, and CEO recruitment and retention. Prior to his consulting work, Bjork taught at the University of California and the University of Chicago.
Integrated Healthcare Strategies also eagerly awaits another book set to hit the presses in summer 2012 authored by James A. Rice, PhD, FACHE. The book, titled “Leadership that Makes a Difference: Creating a Career of Impact” will also be published in collaboration with the ACHE organization.
