New Britain, CT (PRWEB) August 23, 2010

Health Justice CT, an innovative initiative dedicated to creating a vital movement of Connecticut residents focused on working together to raise awareness about the issue of racial and ethnic disparities, find innovative solutions, and ultimately achieve health justice for everyone in Connecticut, today announced the launch of a new website. The interactive site, http://www.HealthJusticeCT.org gathers online conversations and social media activity and features news and information, educational materials and resources focused on the issue of racial and ethnic health disparities and health justice.

There is a large and persistent gap in the health status and delivery of equitable health services among people of different racial and ethnic groups. This is an increasingly important and urgent social, political, economic, and moral problem in Connecticut and across the U.S. Health Justice CT focuses on addressing this problem by stimulating online conversations and encouraging public discourse and collaboration via online social media and social networking to help lead to possible solutions to decrease racial and ethnic health disparities and to promote health equity.

The new website is the latest offering in the Health Justice CT initiative. Earlier this year, Health Justice CT announced the formation of an advisory board, Facebook page and Twitter channel.

HealthJusticeCT.org site visitors will be able to join the Health Justice CT initiative by taking part in discussion forums, commenting on articles and blog posts, accessing and sharing relevant news and educational resources, and connecting to the initiative’s Facebook Page and Twitter feed.

“We’re a movement of Connecticut residents dedicated to working together to raise awareness about the issue of racial and ethnic health disparities. We are here to find innovative solutions, and ultimately achieve health justice for everyone in Connecticut,” said Teresa Younger, executive director for the Connecticut Permanent Commission on the Status of Women and a member of the Health Justice CT Advisory Board. “We look forward to discussing health equality with you!”
