Kihei, Hawaii, will soon host a six-week healthy living workshop series thanks to the County of Maui’s Office on Aging. In conjunction with the workshops, Massage School San Diego, a promoter of healthy lifestyles and San Diego massage schools, has issued a daily health tip to help readers stay in shape and well as they age.
In response to the upcoming healthy living workshop series in Kihei, Massage School San Diego has issued a daily healthy tip for its older readers:
Participate in 2 to 3 hours of moderate intensity physical activity each week to keep healthy and in shape. Divide activities into short 10 to 15 minute sessions in order to prevent exhaustion or overexertion.
According to MauiNow.com, the “Better Choices … Better Health” workshop series will take place on Thursdays, Oct. 25 through Dec. 6 at the Kalama Heights Chapel in Kihei, Hawaii. The series aims to educate local residents on health, nutrition and management of chronic conditions. Participants will learn about strategies for symptom control, including relaxation, exercise, medication and more. They will also receive a book, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions,” as well as a relaxation audio CD. The series is $10 for adults 60 and older and $35 for all others.
