American Securities and ACI Capital, majority owners of Healthy Directions, LLC, one of the country’s largest providers of nutritional supplements and health-related content, today announced that Jim Barch has joined Healthy Directions as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Barch brings to Healthy Directions a wealth of experience in the consumer products arena which will complement and enhance its existing direct marketing strength in the growth of its newsletter and nutritional supplement business.

Since 2002, Mr. Barch served as CEO of Home Care Industries, the leading manufacturer of vacuum cleaners bags and accessories. During his tenure, Jim led the company to increased sales and greatly improved profitability despite a decline in the industry. Prior to Home Care Industries, Jim was President and CEO of the Royal China and Porcelain Company.

Early in his career, Jim spent thirteen years with Procter & Gamble where he held a variety of brand and advertising positions. Following his years at Procter & Gamble, Jim also served as Vice President & General Manager of Church & Dwight, Scott Paper, and the Samsonite Corporation.

David Horing, a Managing Director of American Securities, commented, "Jim has shown time and again in his career that he can infuse strong organizations with new growth through innovation and focus. Healthy Directions’ profitable core business will benefit from his track record, and the organization will be well-positioned to capitalize on the continued growth in the nutritional supplement industry. We are pleased that he has chosen to take on this new role and are confident that Healthy Directions will thrive under his leadership.”

Mr. Barch added, "The opportunities for profitable growth in our business here at Healthy Directions are tremendous. To capitalize on these opportunities, we need to bring to our customers innovative new products and marketing efforts. If we do this successfully, all those involved with Healthy Directions will benefit substantially. I’m excited to be working for a company that brings healthy products and healthy living ideas to the consumer."
