Optimal nutrition multivitamin supplements. Liquid formulas may be easier to swallow and digest. 4. Get enough protein to maintain muscle mass and strength. 5. Frequent nutritious, higher calorie, small snacks like cheese, nuts, and peanut butter throughout the day. 6. Adequate water intake avoids dehydration and keeps respiratory phlegms thinned so it is more easily expelled.
