The Czech Republic are planning to spend $202 million on military helicopters in the next 18 months and many nations in Central and Eastern Europe are embarking on new procurements and upgrading existing rotary capability.

SMi’s Helicopter Technology Eastern Europe conference, supported by DSIA (Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic) has been well timed to unite military helicopter procurement and technology experts with one goal, to enhance existing and future air support operation across air, land and sea.

Helicopter Technology Eastern Europe is the only event with high level support from Brigadier General Libor Stefanik, Commander of the Czech Air Force who will provide an opening keynote address on day one of the conference.

Major General Bohuslav Dvorak, Chief of Advisors to Minister of Defence, Czech Armed Forces will be chairing the event and commented “It will be my privilege to participate in this event. The topics of the conference are perfectly tailored to the current issues we need to solve in the Czech and also neighbouring Armed Forces”

The two day event will feature senior military representatives, project decision makers and technical experts alongside helicopter manufacturers and cutting edge industry solution providers from: Czech Air Force, Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, Joint Helicopter Command UK MoD, Austrian Air Force, NAHEMA (NATO), Slovak Armed Forces, Swedish Air Force, Slovenian Air Force, European Defence Agency, Slovenian MOD, Royal Danish Air Force plus many more.

Bell Helicopter, Airbus Group and Lockheed Martin are the latest companies to confirm their attendance at Helicopter Technology Eastern Europe.

Bell Helicopter recently announced a deal with Air Methods Corp. that could lead to the sale of more than 200 aircraft, helping to counter the weakness in a market hit by the slowdown in work from the oil and gas industry. Air Methods Corp. which operates a fleet of more than 400 helicopters agreed to buy 200 Bell 407GXP helicopters for its core medical transport business. Deliveries of the new six-passenger Bell 407GXP aircraft are due to run for 10 years beginning in 2016*.

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend a post-conference masterclass on 'How to Do Business with the Czech Air Force'. The workshop will be hosted by Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Jaroslav Spacek, Former Chief of Helicopter Aviation at General Staff, Czech Air Force.

For those who are interested in attending there is currently a £300 early bird discount which expires on the 31st March. Further information is available online at http://www.helitechconf.com
