We are pleased to give military organizations free access to our help desk software. It allows us to help our community and country, as well as exercise our social responsibility to operate as good corporate citizens.

Pittsburgh-based Help-Desk-Software is giving U.S. military organizations a rare opportunity to use its web-based software application, Help Desk Premier, completely free of charge. The offer—being made in partnership with BrightBox Solutions—is open to entities such as units, divisions and other U.S. Military organizations. Participating organizations can receive a perpetual license for the software, including all technical support and upgrades, at no cost if they request and register their copy by June 30, 2013.

“We are pleased to give military organizations free access to our help desk software,” said Executive Vice President Joseph Davoren. “It allows us to help our community and country, as well as exercise our social responsibility to operate as good corporate citizens.”

The company’s recent announcement has the potential to have a major impact on military organizations. Eligible military entities will receive the company’s full-featured help desk software—not a limited “demo” or “lite” version. This will allow users to save a considerable amount of money, as perpetual licenses for such full-featured software typically range from $10,000 to more than $100,000. Many military units need and use helpdesk software, which is also a useful all-purpose, issue-tracking tool. Any U.S. military entity that needs software to track problems or issues, as well as support any type of technology, can benefit from this type of customer support software.

This is not the first time Help-Desk-Software has granted free access to Help Desk Premier. In 2012, the company offered the web-based application at no charge to educational institutions, which proved to be a successful endeavor. Many schools and universities capitalized on the offer, prompting it to be extended through March 2013. Help-Desk-Software is anticipating a positive response from military installations.

Help Desk Premier is a modern web-based help desk and issue tracking software with a full feature set to accommodate all size issue-tracking operations. Key features and benefits of the product include:

  • Comprehensive ticket management
  • Flexible ticket escalation and notification rules
  • Highly customizable
  • Automatically convert emails into tickets
  • Change management
  • Tracking of any type of asset
  • Active directory integration
  • Password reset self-service for network users to reset their forgotten passwords
  • Knowledge base for technician or customer use

While there are a myriad of help desk software products on the market, Help Desk Premier has a freshly redesigned user interface that makes it easier for individuals to use. It is equipped with features that are comparable to many higher-end products that typically sell for considerably more. Of course, there is no charge for qualified military organizations to receive their permanent license to Help Desk Premier.
