I hope to help our corporate partners improve group dynamics, task management, threat assessment and debriefing processes while aligning their teams to achieve the highest levels of safety, operational excellence and productivity possible.
Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) May 08, 2012
Afterburner, Inc., a leading continuous process improvement, training and consulting firm based in Atlanta, Ga., and the global authority on the Flawless Execution(SM) model, recently announced that Ron "Beav" Horton would be the first executive vice president of its newly-created high-risk operations and safety improvement program.
Horton, a former U.S. Navy Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier Commanding Officer and former Task Force Commander, will be in charge of Afterburner's occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Services sector that involves teaching high-risk organizations to close execution gaps, improve safety and increase productivity. These high-reliability, high risk organizations include the railroad industry, the oil and gas industry, and the energy and mining industries.
As one of the first high-risk operations and safety improvement program initiatives and to better assist Afterburner's high-reliability partners, such as Weatherford International, National Oilwell Varco and Suncor, Horton is scheduled to relocate to Houston, Texas in July 2012. As Afterburner's first executive vice president of the Health, Safety and Environmental Services division, Horton will teach Afterburner's zero-tolerance-for-error Flawless Execution(SM) methodologies to "front-line leaders" and other various leaders of these organizations, the individuals who lead employees during evolutions and process executions. He will draw from his vast naval experience to teach organizational leaders how to implement Afterburner's "Plan, Brief, Execute and Debrief" model to revolutionize productivity and safety processes.
Horton has over 30 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy. Highlights of his career include being selected for the rank of Rear Admiral and serving in that capacity as Commander of a Logistics Group, an Operational Task Force and a Navy Region in Singapore, where he was the senior U.S. Naval Officer in Southeast Asia. Additionally, he was selected for and served as the 20th Commanding Officer of the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise (CVN-65).
"We are thrilled to have Ron Horton lead Afterburner's occupational Health, Safety and Environmental division," said Jim "Murph" Murphy, founder and CEO of Afterburner, Inc. "Horton's outstanding service in the U.S. Navy, as well as his success in fighter squadrons, surface ships, aircraft carriers and nuclear power plants operations more than provides him with the experience necessary to successfully manage our high-risk operations and safety improvement program for our global clients."
"I am honored to become the first executive vice president of Afterburner's newest high-risk division," said Ron "Beav" Horton. "In conjunction with Afterburner's proven Flawless Execution(SM) methodologies, I hope to help our corporate partners improve group dynamics, task management, threat assessment and debriefing processes while aligning their teams to achieve the highest levels of safety, operational excellence and productivity possible."
