Jenzabar delivered on everything that was promised and exceeded our expectations.
Boston, MA (Vocus) September 22, 2009
Jenzabar, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today that Virginia Union University (VUU) has successfully deployed the Jenzabar EX enterprise resource planning system and Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution (JICS) to increase operational efficiency and better meet the expectations of constituents. With a record number of freshman enrollments this Fall semester, Jenzabar EX and JICS have simplified administrative operations and raised the level of services being delivered to students.
Prior to implementing Jenzabar software, Virginia Union University was experiencing a disappointing and lengthy implementation with another software vendor that was not satisfying the various needs of offices across campus. VUU was in need of an administrative system that would fully integrate with an internet portal and meet the expectations of new and current students. The university quickly decided to move forward with Jenzabar for its efficient and more cost effective solutions and strategies.
Virginia Union University combined Jenzabar EX and the fully-integrated JICS portal to provide students, faculty, and staff with functionality that will be used by every office on campus and deliver the latest online self-service tools to better engage the growing number of freshman enrollments. Jenzabar EX, offered on the Microsoft® SQL Server™ platform, delivers key student information and business data to offices across the campus, helping institutions optimize their performance and achieve critical objectives. JICS, a portal solution designed exclusively for higher education, provides VUU with a single point of access to online communications, Web self-service, community building, and e-learning applications.
"With the largest freshman class the university has seen in five years this Fall semester, it was crucial to go live on our administrative system to provide convenient services to students and staff," said Robert Gray, Director of Information Technology at Virginia Union University. "Jenzabar delivered on everything that was promised and exceeded our expectations."
Virginia Union University, founded in 1865, is one of the oldest of the historically black colleges and universities in the South. The university's academic enterprise is comprised of five major units: the Sydney Lewis School of Business; the School of Education and Interdisciplinary Studies; the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; the School of Basic, Applied Sciences, and Technology; and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology.
"It is essential for colleges and universities to provide constituents with the latest technology," said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Jenzabar software will help Virginia Union University empower staff to work more effectively and give students an outlet to stay connected to the campus community."
